Brent Hoberman backs Good Monday for London launch

The Danish workspace management startup Good Monday has just entered London following a $4M capital injection from the UK early-stage VC firstminute Capital, led by Brent Hoberman. Other investors are Creandum, Seed Capital, and PreSeed Ventures. In London, the first clients are already on board, and the UK office is up and running in Shoreditch with five employees.

British Business Investments commits £40m to Columbia Lake Partners UK LLP

British Business Investments Ltd has committed up to £40m to Columbia Lake Partners Fund II CLP Growth II GBP SCSp - at its first close.

Columbia Lake Partners (CLP) is a London-based venture debt fund, providing growth capital term loans of £3-10m to venture capital backed technology businesses. The investments are a complement to traditional VC funding, allowing companies to grow with less dilutive capital. The fund can invest as part of an equity round, between equity rounds to allow a company more time to build enterprise value, or to fund an acquisition.

Amdaris raises £6 million from BGF

BGF has invested £6m in Amdaris, an industry-leading software developer and digital transformation specialist, to support its organic and acquisitive growth strategy.

Headquartered in Bristol, Amdaris is one of the UK’s fastest-growing technology companies, employing more than 200 developers averaging 40 percent revenue growth per annum over the past three years to £7.2m. The firm’s key sectors of operation include real estate, recruitment, education, financial services and energy.

Harpers Environmental cleans up with £2m in funding from IGF

Industrial services and waste management firm, Harpers Environmental, has secured £2 million of funding from Independent Growth Finance (IGF). This invoice discounting facility is central to the company’s refinance for growth.

The company focuses on the extraction, treatment and appropriate disposal of waste, based out of two sites in York and Teesside. It serves clients across a range of critical sectors including food processing, manufacturing, petrochemicals and utilities. Clients include Yorkshire Water, Karro Foods, Sabic/lndaver and Biffa.

Climeworks raises CHF73 million, the largest ever private investment into direct air capture

Climeworks has successfully raised CHF 73 million (USD 75 million) in equity from private investors.  This is the largest private investment into direct air capture to date. The funding will help to drive forward the company’s scale-up roadmap and expand its carbon dioxide removal capacities.

Although the world is struck by a global pandemic, the urgency of the climate crisis does not subside. Investment in the large-scale deployment of climate solutions provides the opportunity to stimulate economies and build a more resilient world – meaning every dollar invested works harder, bringing additional benefit.
